The Detroit Concert Choir is Detroit's international award winning vocal
ensemble. Recognized as local, national, and international pacesetters of choral music,
the group has built a world wide reputation for excellence. The choir delivers a broad
spectrum of choral experiences and a repertoire that stretches from international
contemporary a cappella compositions, through American folk and gospel, to the great
classical works for chorus and orchestra.
The Detroit Concert Choir consists of 90 + singers, who during a season present 12-16
concerts, perform on radio and television, make recordings, and travel throughout the
country and abroad.
Within the last decade, the choir has received thirteen national and international awards,
including the "Choir of the World" title in Llangollen, Wales. Season highlights
have included performances with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and at American Choral
Director's Association conventions. The DCC continues to receive a myriad of invitations
to participate in internationally renowned music festivals around the world.
The Detroit Concert Choir has produced several recordings (available in CD or tape format
from the DCC choir office). Choir of the World features the award-winning music performed
in the 1996 Llangollen Musical Eisteddfod. Silent Night trumpets classic and new carols of
the Christmas season. America Sings marches forward with patriotic and spiritual gems of
