"Coro Jubilate"
was founded in Legnano, Italy in 1975. It has been conducted by Paolo Alli
since its beginning.
The Choir's repertoire is mainly composed of polyphonic "a cappella" music
from the Fifteenth to the Twentieth century, a particular attention is given
to contemporary music, and especially to the opera of Bruno Bettinelli, one
of the greatest Italian composers of XXth century.
The Choir has developed its technical, vocal and stylistic capacities with
the help of famous Italian and European directors and musicians (Marcel
Couraud, Jurgen Jurgens, Giovanni Acciai, Bruno Bettinelli, Werner Pfaff and
others), and has successfülly participated in a number of international
competitions and festivals.
The Choir has held more than 600 concerts, both a cappella and with
orchestras or instrument groups in every part of Italy and abroad, and has
participated in several important national and international festivals and
competitions.
Coro Jubilate organizes the International Choral Festival "La Fabbrica del
Canto", which is held in Legnano every year in June. Many of the most
important choirs in the world have been invited in the Festival since its
beginning in 1992.
First prizes in National competitions of Adria (1983), Vittorio Veneto
(1987) and Arezzo (1992), third prizes at International Choral Competition
in Spittal an der Drau (1989) and Arezzo (1999)
The Choir has been invited in important international Festivals and concert
tours in Hungary, Germany, Ireland and France.
It has cooperated
with Teatro alla Scala of Mâano (1989) and recorded two compact discs
(Polifonia dell'800 e del 900, Edizioni Rugginenti, Milano, 1990; Opere
corali di Bruno Betfinelli, Edizioni Sarx, Milano, 1998). |

Paolo Alli
was born in 1950. He started his experience as choir conductor in 1975,
leading the Coro Jubilate. He improved his technical, stylistic and artistic
knowledge studying at the "Pontificio Istituto Ambrosiano di Musica Sacra"
in Milano, and participating in a number of seminars and courses with
several European choir conductors and teachers: Marcel Couraud, Jurgen
Jurgens, Giovanni Acciai, Werner Pfaff. He has been in contact with Italian
and European composers, in particular Bruno Bettinelli who has dedicated
some works to Paolo Alli and his Coro Jubilate.
In 1992 he started the International Choral Festival "La Fabbrica del
Canto", which is held in Legnano every year in June. He had the opportunity
of meeting several international choir conductors and keeping contacts and
relationship with them: Tonu Kaljuste, Gary Graden, Werner Pfaff, Andrea
Veneracion, Carl Hogset, Gregg Smith, Bo Johansson, Boris Tevlin, Maria
Felicia Perez and others.
From 1989 to 1991 he has participated in a three years course of Gregorian
Chant organized in Cremona by the "Associazione Internazionale di Studi
Gregoriani". |
