Uppsala
vokalensemble (UV) was established as a Student choir in 1964, but since
1980 it is freestanding from any student organisations. The age distribution
of the singers is today between 20 and 45.
The repertoire is mainlyclassic (both secular and sacred) music, but
concerts with folk music, ballads and jazz music are also performed. UV has
one exercise occasion per week on almost three hours. It also has intensive
exercise occasion during two weekends every half-year.
UV is considered to be one of the leading mixed choirs in Uppsala, Sweden.
In autumn 2002 two concerts with sacred music from the twentieth century
were performed. Choral works by for example M. Duruflé, I. Pizzetti and
S.-E. Bäck were then included in the concert programme. This spring two
concerts with secular romantic music will be performed. Choral works by for
example R. V. Williams, E. Elgar and W. Stenhammar will then be included in
the concert programme. |
